Isn’t your handkerchief a little too big?
Mika
Oh, it’s not a handkerchief. It is a cloth used to wrap lunch boxes in. We call it “furoshiki” in Japanese. Watch this.

Jane
Wow, cool! A piece of cloth can be used like a bag!
Mika
Yes. If you have a bigger furoshiki, almost anything, such as books and even wine bottles, can be wrapped in it.
ジェーン：あなたのハンカチやけに大きくない？

ミカ：あら、これハンカチじゃないのよ。これは弁当箱を包むのに使う布よ。日本語で「風呂敷」って言うの。見てて。

ジェーン：まぁ、素敵！一枚の布が鞄みたいに使えるのね！

ミカ：そうよ。もっと大きな風呂敷があれば、ほとんど何だって、たとえば本とか、ワインの瓶だって包めるのよ。
