Jane
Have you heard the surprising news about Alice and Ted?
Bill
You mean about their getting married. I was absolutely astonished when I heard about it. Did you go to their wedding last Saturday?
Jane
Yes, I did. She was so beautiful also I was moved by her speech at the wedding to her parents.
Bill
It’s surprising I didn’t even know they had been dating. How long have they been going out?
Jane
They have been together for about a year and they are made for each other.
Bill
Well, it’s your turn next.
Jane
Yeah, I hope so.
ジェーン：
アリスとテッドのオドロキニュース聞いた？

ビル：
結婚したんだって？聞いてもうびっくりしたよ。先週土曜の結婚式は行ったの？

ジェーン：
行ったわよ。本当に綺麗だったし、式での彼女のご両親へのスピーチに感動したわ。

ビル：
ほんとにびっくりだよ。彼らが付き合っていることさえ知らなかったよ。
どれぐらい付き合っているの？

ジェーン：
付き合って１年くらいらしくて、もう相性ぴったり、って感じ。

ビル：
次は君の番だね。

ジェーン：
そうねぇ、そう願うわ。

HINTS
We use adjectives with “ed” to describe a feeling.
(EX) I was very bored in the math lesson. I almost fell asleep.
We use adjectives with “ing” to describe what we think about something.
(EX) I could listen to him for hours. He’s one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met.
