It is definitely different. Students wear whatever they want. I had a girl wearing a mini skirt and high heels in class today.
Tom
That is pretty normal. Is there a dress code in Japan?
Yuko
Some schools require students to wear uniforms and follow rules on hairstyle, make up and accessories.
Tom
Wow. Maybe they should do that here!
トム：
ねえゆうこ、アメリカの高校で教えるのにはもう慣れた？

ゆうこ：
ぜんぜん違うのね。生徒たちは着たいものを着て。今日の授業にはミニスカートにハイヒールを履いている女の子がいたわ。

トム：
それはいたって普通のことだよ。日本にはドレスコードはあるの？

ゆうこ：
一部の学校では制服を着て、髪型やメイク、アクセサリーについても規則に従わなければいけないの。

トム：
へぇ。ここでもそうするべきかもね！
