I heard your house is fairly close to the nuclear power plants?
Yoko
Well, it’s still a 2-hour drive but I guess you can say it is not too far.
Tom
I see. What’s Japan’s opinion of using nuclear power?
Yoko
Clearly, many people don’t want to use nuclear power. I am sure it’s the same as Italy.
Tom
Italy rejects nuclear power.
Yoko
That’s the way we should be in Japan too.
トム：
君の家、原子力発電所のすごく近くだって聞いたんだけど。

ヨウコ：
う～ん、それでも車で２時間だけど、そんなに遠くないとはいえるわね。

トム：
なるほど、原子力に対しての日本の意見はどうなの？

ヨウコ：
沢山の人が原子力を使うことに反対してるのは明白よ。それはイタリアでも同じじゃないの？

トム：
イタリアは原子力を拒否したんだよ。

ヨウコ：
日本もその方向に向かうべきだわ。
