Would you spend the night in a haunted house? In the UK there are many old buildings, houses, castles and hotels. Some of them are over 500 years old and many of them are said to be haunted. A haunted house is a place with ghosts. Many hotels use these stories to attract curious customers who want a scary experience. Ghosts are good for business.
Some stories tell of the previous owners of the house. Usually it’s a scary story, maybe the owner was murdered or died terribly. People say they see the ghost of the person or hear footsteps at night or other strange noises. Many people report feeling cold or feeling the touch of a ghost. Sometimes they even hear the voice of a ghost whispering in their ear.
Would you be brave enough to spend the night in a haunted house, maybe with some friends? It could be a fun night or maybe a scary night. If people believe in ghosts then they will often hear or see something strange. But people who don’t believe say it’s just the wind or a cat. Why don’t you try it, you might see an unexpected visitor.
